New Delhi. In Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, the Vigilance team raided a government engineer’s house and recovered more than 2.1 crore cash. The great thing is that when the Vigilance Department team reached the house of Chief Engineer Baikunth Nath Sarangi in the Rural Development Department, the officer panicked and threw the bundles of 500-500 notes down from the window of their flat. Later, bundles of these notes were recovered in the presence of witnesses. The machine had to be taken help to count the notes. Seeing so much cash at the Chief Engineer’s house, the raid team was also shocked.

Action was taken on a total of seven complexes of Chief Engineer Baikunth Nath Sarangi. In addition to cash in raids, many expensive electronic goods, furniture, many precious jewelery, papers related to land and flats, lockers in many bank accounts and banks have been found. RD Planning and Road in Bhubaneswar, Chief Engineer, Office Room, two-storey housing in Kardagadia Anugul, Flat in PDN Xons in Bhubaneswar, Seula PS-Pili, Flat in District-Puri, Flat, Sishikpada, PS/District-District Augul, their relative’s home, village-Lokipasi, Tehsil/District Augul A two-storey ancestral building and simultaneous raids were conducted in PS/District-Anugul.
7 teams of Vigilance Department were involved in this raid campaign. There were also more than 50 officers in the raiding team. A team of 26 police officers was formed for this. In this team, 8 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 12 Inspector and 6 Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) as well as other assistant employees were also placed. This action was taken against Baikunth Nath Sarangi in case of disproportionate assets. Now investigation has been started against them in sections related to corruption and misuse of government resources and an FIR has also been registered.
