New Delhi. After wrestling, there are full chances of Vinesh Phogat entering politics. Citing sources, news channel Aaj Tak has reported that Vinesh Phogat may contest from Dadri seat against her cousin Babita Phogat in the Haryana assembly elections. Babita Phogat contested the assembly elections from Dadri on a BJP ticket in 2019. Vinesh Phogat had recently joined the farmers’ movement and supported their demands. Before this, she has also met Haryana Congress leader Deepender Hooda several times.

However, Vinesh Phogat has not said anything openly about trying her luck in the political arena. Vinesh Phogat had earlier said that she is under pressure to enter politics, but will take advice from the elders. Vinesh Phogat had said that she is still in deep shock and will think about what to do when her mind is clear. Now the way Vinesh Phogat joined the farmers’ movement and supported their demands, it is giving clear indications that the wrestler who played Olympics for India is now preparing to enter the political arena as well.

Vinesh Phogat also recently went to the Paris Olympics. She had won the semi-finals in the 50 kg weight category, but just before the final match, Vinesh Phogat was disqualified due to being 100 grams overweight. Vinesh Phogat appealed against this decision in the Sports Tribunal and appealed for a joint silver medal, but she got a setback there too. After this, on returning to the country, the Khap Panchayats together gave Vinesh Phogat a gold medal. Vinesh had also announced her retirement from the sport after the Paris Olympics case. Later, she also indicated to reconsider this decision.
