New Delhi. Two great players of Indian wrestling, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, have joined the Congress party. In this connection, both of them met Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge at 10 Rajaji Marg. The Congress party expressed happiness on social media about this big news and posted on Instagram, “Chak De India, Chak De Haryana!”
Phogat and Punia, who have brought laurels to India at the international level, joining the Congress can give the party a big advantage in the upcoming Haryana assembly elections. Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in Haryana on October 5, and the joining of these high-profile players in the Congress is expected to boost the party’s morale.
Vinesh Phogat resigned from the Indian Railways on Friday, which she described as a decision taken due to personal reasons. Posting on Instagram, she wrote, “Serving the Indian Railways has been a memorable and proud time of my life.” Both Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat are Olympic medalists. Punia won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, while Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian female wrestler to reach the Olympic final.
Serving Indian Railways has been a memorable and proud time of my life.
At this point in my life, I have decided to separate myself from the railway service and have submitted my resignation to the competent authorities of the Indian Railways. I am thankful to the Railways for this opportunity given to me in the service of the nation… pic.twitter.com/HasXLH5vBP

What did Sakshi Malik say about this decision?
Wrestler Sakshi Malik said on Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat, “Maybe today they (wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat) will join the party, that is why they are coming to resign, it is their personal decision that they want to join the party. Our movement should not be given a wrong shape. My movement for women continues even today. I have always thought about wrestling, I have worked in the interest of wrestling and will do so in the future. I also got big offers but I have to work till the end of whatever I am associated with. Until the federation is cleaned up and the exploitation of sisters and daughters stops, my fight will continue.”
