Vinesh Phogat has been given a ticket by Congress from Julana seat for Haryana assembly elections. On the question of winning the election here, Vinesh Phogat said that she sees the weakness of the opponent. Let us tell you that Vinesh Phogat’s uncle Mahavir Phogat had said on his nephew’s entry into politics that he should have participated in another Olympics.
Vinesh Phogat has wrestled a lot at the international level. Recently, Vinesh Phogat also went to the Paris Olympics. There, Vinesh Phogat had entered the finals in the 50 kg weight category wrestling, but due to her weight being 100 grams more than the standard, Vinesh Phogat was not allowed to play the final match. Vinesh Phogat had also appealed to the Sports Tribunal to give her at least a silver medal, but citing the rules, this appeal was rejected. Former President of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was accused of sexual exploitation by Vinesh Phogat along with her fellow wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia. All three also alleged that Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has sexually exploited other female wrestlers as well. Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia had protested for a long time in this matter. After which Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had to step down from the post of President of Wrestling Federation. Currently, a case is going on in Delhi court against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on the allegations of sexual exploitation leveled by female wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat.
