Violent demonstration in Swami Ramakrishna Ashram
Shimla: There was a ruckus at Swami Ramakrishna Ashram in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh on Saturday night. Tension escalated here during a demonstration by a group after prayers and meditation. Due to which the situation here has become violent.
What is the whole matter?
It is alleged that ABVP and BJP supporters gathered there and pelted stones. Let us tell you that allegations have come to light regarding attempts to gain control over the administration and operations, which have been rejected by the Ashram management. This matter is currently pending in the Supreme Court.
SP expressed concern
Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi has expressed concern over this tense situation while confirming the incident. The SP said some people were injured when a group demonstrated after prayers and meditation and it later turned violent. ABVP and BJP supporters had gathered there. Suddenly stones were pelted by ABVP and BJP supporters.
SP said that we have registered an FIR under relevant sections in this matter and investigation is going on. We are taking the matter seriously. Law and order is our priority. Our team, led by Navdeep, reached the spot at midnight, maintained peace and ensured security of the property. We had resolved the matter at midnight, but suddenly there was stone pelting.
Statement of the Secretary of Swami Ramakrishna Ashram came out
Tanmahimamananda, secretary of Swami Ramakrishna Ashram, said, ‘We were given the temple to do religious work. We had also told the SP 10 days ago that some such incident could happen here. We also went to court but could not get time. The people who created the ruckus came posing as devotees and created the ruckus while the case is going on in the Supreme Court.
