The 18th zone office of Indian Railways is going to be built soon in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Let us tell you that Indian Railways is going to construct its 18th zone office in Visakhapatnam. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently made a post giving information about the tender to be floated for this. The Railway Minister has made a post on social media platform X. In this post he has told that the National Transporter has invited tender for the construction of office to establish South Coast Railway Zone in Visakhapatnam.

The work will be completed in two years

Actually, the 18th zone of Indian Railways will soon come into existence. This zone of railway will be called South Coast Railway zone. The headquarters of the 18th zone of Indian Railways will be in Visakhapatnam. Bidding for the tender for the construction of office building of this new zone of Railways will start on 13 December 2024. The tender will close on 27 December 2024. A target of 24 months i.e. two years has been set to complete this work. Let us tell you that this was announced by the then Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in 2019 itself. The construction of South Coast Railway Zone will boost connectivity in this entire region and will provide a lot of convenience to the people here.

Foundation stone for redevelopment of railway station

At the same time, PM Modi had laid the foundation stone of the ambitious redevelopment project of Visakhapatnam Railway Station about two years ago. This project of Railway Land Development Authority costing Rs 446 crore is also considered important because Visakhapatnam is soon going to become the headquarters of the new South Coast Railway Zone. Based on EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) this project aims to provide world class facilities to the passengers.
