Modi has been called by Putin at a time when US President Donald Trump is going to meet Ukraine’s President Volodimir Jailnsky. In this context, it is considered very important for Putin to call Modi. Russia and India are old ally. India is buying oil from Russia despite the US sanctions. Be irritated by this, US President Trump first imposed a 25 percent tariff on India and then announced an additional 25 percent tariff. In this way, the US has announced to impose 50 percent on India.
Now that India is a big business partner of Russia and probably that is why Putin called Modi and gave a description of his meeting with Trump. Due to the conversation between Trump and Putin, there was a lot of hope about the Russia-Ukraine ceasefire, but no solution could be found. Trump then called Ukraine President Jailonsky and invited him to come to America. After which Jailonski has reached America and today he is to meet with Trump.
