New Delhi. Assembly elections are to be held in Bihar this year. Just before this, the Election Commission is conducting special intensive revision of all voters in Bihar. The Election Commission is rapidly imposing the intensive revision work of Bihar voters. According to the Election Commission, census forms have been obtained from 2.88 crore people so far in special intensive revision of voters. According to the Election Commission, the calculation forms that have been received, 11.26 percent of them have been uploaded to the system on Monday.
The Election Commission has fixed the date of 25 July 2025 for special intensive revision of voters. After this, objections will be taken from the people by releasing the draft voter list and by September, the list of all qualified voters of Bihar will be released. The Election Commission may be doing special intensive revision work of voters in Bihar rapidly, but the entire Daromdar is on the hearing of petitions filed in the Supreme Court on Thursday 10 July. Apart from Association for Democratic Reforms i.e. ADR, Yogendra Yadav, TMC MP Mahua Moitra and RJD MP Manoj Jha, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the special intensive revision of the Election Commission. Everyone alleges that this revision of the Election Commission will take away the right to vote for crores of voters in Bihar.
Opposition parties are raising questions that when the Election Commission released the updated voter list of Bihar in January 2025, why is special intensive revision? He also says that it is not possible to meet the documents asked by the Election Commission to ensure the validity of the voter. They also argue why the Aadhaar card and ration cards are not being valid as a document of being a voter. However, UIDAI, an Aadhaar card -issuing organization, has already said that its card is not evidence of citizenship. Similarly, ration card is also not considered a proof of citizenship. In such a situation, everyone’s eyes are now on the Supreme Court that he gives a decision in favor of continuing the special voter revision of the Election Commission in Bihar, or justifies the argument of opposition leaders.
