The Election Commission said that special camps are also being set up in all 5,683 wards of all 261 urban local bodies (ULBs) of Bihar. Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav strongly criticized the Election Commission for this process.
He told reporters here, “The Election Commission of India is working on the instructions of the BJP office. We made people aware of their rights, we went to the Supreme Court, even the Supreme Court gave instructions, but the Gyanesh Kumar (Chief Election Commissioner) did not make a single press conference nor did any answer.”
Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi on Sunday, citing media reports, alleged that “large -scale irregularities” are coming out in the special intensive revision (SIR) of the ongoing voter list in Bihar. He also questioned the freedom of the Election Commission.
He also pointed out that the election body is silent towards the “atmosphere of chaos” among the people due to this process.
The Congress MP said in a post on X, “Seeing what is happening in the name of special intensive revision in Bihar, the public is asking if ‘vote ban’ is being implemented in Bihar?”
According to reports published in the media, heavy irregularities and fraud are coming out throughout the process. There is an atmosphere of chaos in the public and the Election Commission is silent on all questions. In such a situation, the question arises is that for whom the Election Commission is working and what is its purpose.
