There has been BJP government in Haryana for the last 10 years. In 2019, BJP did not get a clear majority and gained power in alliance with Dushyant Chautala’s JJP. Manohar Lal Khattar had become CM then. BJP fielded Manohar Lal Khattar in the Lok Sabha elections and in his place Naib Singh Saini was made the CM of Haryana. This time, the main opposition party Congress tried its best to prevent BJP from coming to power. Apart from Congress, the alliance of Aam Aadmi Party, JJP and Chandrashekhar’s Azad Samaj Party, INLD and BSP have also entered the election race.
Talking about the veteran candidates of Haryana, CM Nayab Singh Saini is in the fray from Ladwa. At the same time, former CM and Congress candidate Bhupendra Singh Hooda is trying his luck from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi. Dushyant Chautala is hitting the beats from Uchana Kalan. Whereas, Abhay Chautala of INLD is also in the fray from Ellenabad. Former Home Minister Anil Vij is once again contesting elections on BJP ticket from Ambala Cantt seat of Haryana. Gopal Kanda of Haryana Lokhit Party is contesting from Sirsa and the country’s richest woman Savitri Jindal is contesting as independent from Hisar seat. Congress has fielded wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Julana seat. Ranjit Chautala is trying his luck as an independent from Rania seat. Meanwhile, Aditya Surjewala is the Congress candidate for Kaithal seat. His father Randeep Surjewala is a Congress MP and a senior leader of the party. BJP MP Kiran Chaudhary’s daughter Shruti Chaudhary has also entered the Haryana election arena.
