New Delhi. The main accused in the murder of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar alias Vikas Bagga in Punjab on 13 April 2024 is Wadhwa Singh, the head of the banned Khalistani organization Babbar Khalsa International BKI. Wadhawa Singh lives in Pakistan. The NIA, which is investigating the murder of VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar, has filed a charge sheet in the court in the name of 6 accused including BKI chief Wadhwa Singh. VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar was murdered in Nangal in Rupnagar district of Punjab.
According to the information received from NIA, apart from Wadhwa Singh, the names of 3 arrested and 2 absconding terrorists are in the charge sheet. In the case of murder of Vikas Prabhakar, NIA had arrested BKI shooter and Nawanshahr resident Surinder Kumar alias Reeka, Mandeep Kumar alias Mangli and Gurpreet Ram alias Gora. Apart from these three, NIA has filed chargesheet against all the accused under sections of UAPA, IPC and Arms Act. According to NIA, Wadhawa Singh, Harjeet Singh alias Laddi of Nawanshahr and Kulbir Singh alias Sidhu of Yamunanagar, Haryana are absconding. These three had given arms and money to those who murdered VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar.
After the murder of VHP leader Vikas in April, NIA took over the investigation of the case in May. NIA investigation itself revealed that BKI had a hand in this murder. NIA gathered strong evidence as to how Wadhwa Singh’s BKI activated its modules in various countries to murder the VHP leader. According to NIA, Wadhawa Singh asked Khalistani terrorists Kulbir Singh and Harjeet Singh living in Germany to kill Vikas Prabhakar. Dubai’s connection has also come to light in this matter. NIA has claimed in the charge sheet that the accused got weapons from India also.
