New Delhi. Today, the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court BR on the petitions challenging the Waqf Amendment Act. The hearing was held before the bench headed by Gawai. However, the court adjourned the hearing till 20 May. Justice Gawai said that the Supreme Court will consider interim relief in this case, during this time all the parties will be heard carefully. Along with this, the bench has told the central government that as long as the matter is under consideration, no Waqf property should be detected and there should not be new appointments in the Waqf Council or Board.
Earlier, former Supreme Court CJI Sanjeev Khanna was hearing these petitions but due to his retirement, he sent the matter before the new bench. Justice Sanjeev Khanna had said that in this case, everyone’s point would have to be listened to and he does not want to keep any order safe in the last round of his tenure on the petitions challenging the validity of the Waqf Amendment Act. There is a need to consider the points raised by the Center in relation to Waqf properties and the disputed figures given by the Center.

At the same time, Supreme Court advocate Barun Sinha said that today the court has adjourned the case till Tuesday. It has also been made completely clear that the hearing on Tuesday will be held on the interim order. Both sides have been given two hours to two hours to keep their arguments. Earlier, the Central Government had said in its counter -affidavit in the Supreme Court that all the petitions filed against the Waqf Amendment Act should be dismissed. Explain that the Muslim side claims that through the Waqf Amendment Act, the government is violating their rights.
