New Delhi. Tomorrow i.e. on April 2, the Waqf Amendment Bill may be introduced in the Lok Sabha. Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju Waqf will introduce the Amendment Bill in the Modi government. The current session of Parliament is till 4 April. Kiren Rijiju, however, has indicated that the government may also increase the Parliament session. Rijiju has also claimed that the Waqf Amendment Bill also has the support of some parties of the opposition alliance. At the same time, the opposition has hoped from Nitish Kumar’s JDU and Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP involved in NDA that both parties will not allow him to pass by opposing the Waqf Amendment Bill. Nitish’s party has 12 MPs in the Lok Sabha. At the same time, Chandrababu Naidu has 16 TDP MPs. Whereas, Chirag Paswan has 5 MPs of LJP-R.
The Waqf Amendment Bill will not be passed from the Lok Sabha without the support of JDU and TDP MPs. If we look at the number of government and opposition MPs in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, then the majority number in the lower house is 272 and the number of NDA MPs is 293. At the same time, the number of opposition MPs in the Lok Sabha is 233. Talking about Rajya Sabha, there are 236 MPs here. BJP has 115 MPs in Rajya Sabha, including 98. 6 Nominated MPs also vote in favor of NDA, then this number reaches 121. 119 MPs are needed to pass the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha. In such a situation, if the NDA remains united and nominated MPs also support, then the Waqf Amendment Bill will be passed comfortably from the Rajya Sabha.
Muslim organizations and Muslim leaders are strongly opposing the Waqf Amendment Bill. All parties of Congress and opposition are calling it unconstitutional. At the same time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah says that Muslims are being misled about the Waqf Amendment Bill. He said in a news channel program that the opposition and Muslim organizations are spreading confusion in the same way as the CAA law. Amit Shah also said that if someone has problems, then he can also go to court against the law. Kiren Rijiju has also said that the allegations are false that the Modi government will grab the property of Muslims through the Waqf Amendment Bill. He described the current Waqf law as unconstitutional. Rijiju said that people who have grabbed Waqf land are opposing it. He has also said that the Waqf Amendment Bill will benefit the poor Muslims. However, everyone is eyeing that when the Waqf Amendment Bill is introduced in Parliament, what opinion the parties make their opinion on it and will this bill really grab the assets of Muslims.
