Waqf amendment bill became law
The Waqf Amendment Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha again from the Rajya Sabha after discussion amid opposition from the opposition and on Saturday, President Draupadi Murmu also approved the Waqf (Amendment) bill late on Saturday evening. After the President’s approval, the Waqf Amendment Bill has now become a law. The government has issued a gazette notification regarding the new Waqf law. Now what will be the path ahead of it is important in many ways. Now how long the Waqf law will apply depend on the government because the central government will issue a separate notification regarding the date of implementation of the law and this law will be implemented in the whole country.
Muslim personal law wrote a letter
On Saturday evening, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) released a two-page letter in protest against the Waqf Bill and the All India Muslim Personal Law Board said that we will hold nationwide agitation with all religious, community-based and social organizations. This campaign will continue until the amendments are completely canceled. The Waqf Amendment Bill is a serious attack on Islamic values, religion and Sharia, religious and cultural freedom, communal harmony and the infrastructure of the Indian Constitution. The support of some political parties to the BJP’s communal agenda has completely exposed their so -called secular facade.
Opposition to Waqf Bill, talk reached Supreme Court
On Saturday, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan filed a petition in the Supreme Court in protest against the Waqf Bill. Earlier on Friday, two petitions were filed in the Supreme Court, the first of Congress MP Mohammad Javed in Bihar and second AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi. At the same time, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh had said that Congress will go to the Supreme Court and along with him, DMK of Tamil Nadu had also asked to file a petition against Waqf.
Bihar Governor supported
Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has supported the Waqf Amendment Bill passed from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. He said- Waqf’s properties are considered to be of Allah. It should be used for the poor, needy and public interest. Non -Muslims also have equal rights in Waqf’s assets.
