Ranya Rao and Jatin
The husband of actress Ranya Rao, who was caught in the Gold Smuggling case, has revealed in the court that he started living separately from Ranya only after a month of marriage. Ranya’s husband Jatin Hawakari had already filed a petition in the court demanding to stop his arrest in the case. Jatin was arrested in a case related to gold smuggling. The Karnataka High Court had ordered not to take action against Jatin until the next hearing.
Marriage in November, staying apart from December
Jatin’s lawyer told the court that the two were married in November, but due to some reasons, both were living informally separately. Officials of the Revenue Intelligence Directorate say that he will express objection to the court’s decision not to take action against Jatin. However, this can only happen at the next hearing (March 24). Till then the police will not take action against Jatin.
Order came on 11 March
Jatin Hawakari feared that he would also be arrested in the gold smuggling case due to a relationship with Ranya. In such a situation, he filed a petition against his arrest in the court. On March 11, the court ordered no action against Jatin. Ranya’s father and IPS officer Ramchandra Rao had said that the daughter had distanced him away after marriage after being caught while smuggling gold. After this, the name of husband Jatin Hawakari was revealed in the case and Jatin filed a petition to stop his arrest in the court.
Ranya was arrested on March 3
Ranya Rao was arrested on March 3 in a gold smuggling case from Dubai. Many of his bail petitions have been dismissed. Ranya Rao has filed a new bail petition in the Sessions Court after the bail plea was rejected in the lower court.
