Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said on Wednesday that the situation on the northern border is sensitive but stable. He said that his force is fully prepared and capable to deal with any situation.
In his address at the 77th Army Day celebrations here, he also said that the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) is intact but “infiltration attempts are continuing.”

He also underlined that special attention has been paid to modern equipment and development of critical infrastructure on the northern border. He said, “We will continue to move forward on the path of making the Indian Army a modern, agile, adaptable, technology-enabled force.”
The Army Chief said that the 77th Army Day Parade held in Pune has special significance as it has been the site of valor since the time of Maratha rule. He said that the Army Day celebrations in Pune reflect our deep connect with the heritage of the region.
This festival was organized for the first time in Pune. The Army Day Parade (ADP) was held here at the Bombay Engineers Group (BEG) and Centre, which comes under the Southern Command of the Army.
