The weather patterns have changed in many parts of the country. While Delhi-NCR has been cloudy since this morning and there is a possibility of rain, the high areas of Himachal Pradesh continue to have a light to moderate levels, while many parts of the lower and central mountainous areas are raining intermittently. The Meteorological Department gave this information on 27 February and has issued a special warning for Thursday and Friday regarding the weather.
Heavy rain and snow alert
The Meteorological Department has predicted that there may be heavy to very heavy rains and snowfall in Mandi, Kangra, Kullu and Chamba districts on Thursday and Friday. In view of this, the department has issued ‘Orange’ alert for these districts. Meanwhile, ‘Yellow Alert’ has been released, estimating heavy snowfall in Lahaul-Spiti and heavy rains and snow in Shimla district.
Apart from this, heavy rains have also been expected in Una and Hamirpur districts. At the same time, the minimum temperature was recorded at the Tabo of Lahaul-Spiti district on the night of 26 February, which was minus 4.5 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department also informed that a total of 70.4 mm of rain has been recorded in Himachal Pradesh from January 1 to February 27 during the winter season.
Rain alert for 15 states
Explain that the Meteorological Department has issued rain alert on Thursday in 15 states of the country, including Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Meghale and Assam. At the same time, Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are also alerts about snowfall along with rain.
