New Delhi. There is an atmosphere of tension in the area after the incident of sexual abuse of a minor girl in Madhyamgram of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. According to the report of ABP News, in view of the situation, Rapid Action Force (RAF) has also been deployed there along with the police. Let us tell you that earlier in the morning, angry people from this incident vandalized the house of the Panchayat member accused of sexually abusing the minor. After this, the police had to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. Now West Bengal Police has issued a statement through social media regarding the Madhyamgram incident and three other incidents of molestation and sexual harassment at different places. According to West Bengal Police, misinformation is being spread about some incidents of sexual abuse in the districts. The facts are-

1. A patient has been accused of touching a nurse inappropriately during night duty at Ilambazar BPHC. After which the patient has been arrested.
2. A case of sexual assault of a girl by her cousin has come to light in Krishnanagar PD. Raids are underway to arrest the accused.

3. The sole accused in a sexual assault case in Madhyamgram has been promptly arrested. Police say the arrested person is not a panchayat member, as is being claimed in the media.
4. A lab technician has been arrested following a complaint of sexual assault on a girl at Howrah District Hospital.
West Bengal Police has said that it believes in zero tolerance policy towards crimes against women. Strict legal action will be taken against the criminals as well as those who spread misinformation.
