New Delhi. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced the One Nation One Election Bill in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. If this bill is passed after discussion, elections for Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies will be held simultaneously in the country. This will save a lot of money. While presenting the One Nation One Election bill in the Lok Sabha, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, along with highlighting the special features of this bill, also gave an important statement on the federal nature of India. The Law Minister quoted Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s statement in the Constituent Assembly and said that the Sangh is indestructible. That means no one can change it.
Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, while presenting the One Nation One Election Bill, said in the Lok Sabha that Baba Saheb was the first Law Minister. I also come from the same class from which he came. Meghwal further said that during the debate in the Constituent Assembly on 4 November 1948, Baba Saheb had said that the basic principle of federalism is that the power of the Center and the State is linked through the Constitution and not through any made rule. The Union Law Minister further quoted Ambedkar’s speech and said that the Indian Union is not the basis for any agreement between the states. Baba Saheb had said that the Sangh is indestructible and no one can change it.
Giving the example of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s statement on behalf of the Union Law Minister is also important in the sense that Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi had said in the Lok Sabha during the discussion of the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the year 2022 That India is not a nation as per the Constitution. Rahul Gandhi had said that instead India has been described as a union of states. Rahul Gandhi had further said that this means that a brother from Tamil Nadu has the same rights as a brother from Maharashtra. Rahul Gandhi had said that this definitely applies to Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur and Lakshadweep also. In this way, Meghwal quoted Baba Saheb’s speech and made it clear that the creator of the Constitution had described the Union of India as indestructible and not divisive.
