Leaders of the opposition are also raising their voice against this law in unison. In such a situation, a big statement of Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has come out on Tuesday.
Its purpose is to rectify previous mistakes
Rijiju said, ‘The Waqf Act is not amended by targeting the Muslim community, but its purpose is to rectify previous mistakes. Talking to the media in Kochi, Rijiju said, “The central government intends to ensure that there is no provision for forced and unilateral to snatch someone’s land in India.”
Targeting people of Muslim community is not the purpose
He said that the Waqf law was amended because some of its provisions have given unprecedented power and rights to Waqf boards. People of the Muslim community have not been targeted through this revised law. This has been done to rectify earlier mistakes.
Competition will not be declared arbitrarily
During this, Rijiju was present with Union Minister of State George Kurien and Kerala State BJP President Rajiv Chandrashekhar. Rijiju said that after the amendment, no land will be declared arbitrarily as Waqf property.
Violent demonstrations in Bengal
Explain that this statement of the Union Minister has brought the protests against various Muslim groups against the Waqf Amendment Act. There have been violent demonstrations in some parts of Shchim Bengal.
Opposition opposed this law
It is to be known that the Waqf Amendment Bill passed by Parliament received the President’s approval on 5 April. The NDA government has strongly defended this law within the House, calling it beneficial for minorities. Leaders of the opposition have directly described this law as anti -Muslim. (Input-PTI)
