New Delhi. Four major decisions were taken in the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. The Modi Cabinet has cleared the employment -related incentive scheme Employment Linked Inscent (ELI). Under the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme, a target has been set to encourage the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs in 2 years. 99,446 crore has been allocated for this. Also, for the first time, one month’s salary (up to Rs 15,000) will be given in two installments to the youth working for the first time. Apart from this, the National Sports Policy 2025, Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme and Parmkudi-Ramnathpuram National Highway in Tamil Nadu have been approved to be four-lane.

Giving information after the cabinet meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that under the ELI scheme, the government will encourage employers up to Rs 3,000 per month for each employee for every employee who has been working continuously for 6 months. Similarly, through the RDI scheme, many new ideas coming to the minds of the youth will be taken forward, for which a budget of ₹ 1 lakh crore has been kept. In view of the big achievements in sports in the last ten years, the government has approved the National Sports Policy. Its purpose is to take India forward in the sports world.

Ashwini Vaishnav said that it is also aim to strengthen the claim for hosting other international events including Olympics 2036. For this, the opinion of the general public was also taken along with the Union Ministries, NITI Aayog, State Governments, Sports Federations, Athletes. The government will also be focused on making it a career option by linking sports with education. The fourth decision of the cabinet is related to the infrastructure, a 46.7 km long national highway from Parmakudi to Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu will be constructed for four lanes for which it will cost Rs 1,853 crore.
