In the notification issued by the Home Ministry, it has been said that this organization has become a serious threat to India’s democratic system and internal security. While outlawing Hizb-ut-Tahrir, the government has blamed it for pushing youth towards radical ideology and inciting them to engage in terrorist activities.

Islamic country and the goal of caliphate
The government believes that Hizb ut-Tahrir aims to establish an Islamic state and caliphate through jihad by overthrowing the democratic government. It is banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). This organization encourages terrorism and separatism and has been involved in promoting terrorism in India.

Hizb ut-Tahrir was founded in Jerusalem in 1953, with the main objective of re-establishing the caliphate through non-military means. The organization is banned in several countries, including Bangladesh and the United Kingdom. Britain had termed it an anti-Semitic organization which promotes terrorism.

Apart from this, NIA has also taken action against Hizb-ut-Tahrir. Recently, a raid was conducted at the house of an accused associated with this organization in Tamil Nadu, in which many objectionable materials, documents, and digital devices were seized. A person named Faizul Rehman is accused of hatching an anti-India conspiracy and spreading a separatist agenda.
