New Delhi. Land for job scam means job in exchange for land scam. In this alleged scam, former CM of Bihar and Railway Minister at the Center Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav have to appear in Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi today. Apart from these three, Lalu Yadav’s wife and former Bihar CM Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav are also accused in this case. Apart from all these, many railway employees have also been accused by CBI in the job in exchange for land scam. Chargesheet has been filed against everyone in Delhi court. For the first time, CBI has made Lalu Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav an accused in the land-for-jobs scam.
CBI has accused Lalu Yadav that when he was Railway Minister during the UPA government, he took land from people and gave them jobs in Railways. According to CBI, Lalu Yadav also got these lands named after his family members. CBI claims that the victims have given them statements in this regard. Whereas, Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav have been continuously saying that no land was taken in exchange for providing jobs in Railways. ED is also investigating money laundering in this case. ED had recently arrested Amit Katyal, who is said to be close to Lalu Yadav. Amit Katyal was the director of AK Infosystems. This company is also accused of being involved in the land-for-jobs scam.
AK Infosystems company, of which Amit Katyal was a director, was registered at an address in New Friends Colony, South Delhi. Lalu Yadav’s family members were living in the house where the address was given for the company. This house was especially being used by Lalu Yadav’s younger son Tejashwi Yadav for living. Apart from AK Infosystems, this house was also shown as the office of M/s AB Exports. It has also come to light that this house was sold to Lalu’s family at much less than the market price. Altogether there are 78 accused in this case. Among them there are dozens who got jobs in Railways.
