There was a time when reservation could be made in Railways on any date and in any year. At that time, computer reservation had not started in Indian Railways. Now Railways has once again changed the rules of train reservation.
The current rule of Railways was that passengers could make reservation for traveling by train 120 days i.e. 4 months in advance. Now Railways has changed this deadline. Railways has now reduced the time limit for reservation in trains. If you want to travel by train within 120 days, then read this news carefully. In the new rule made by the Railways regarding train reservation, the time limit of 120 days has been abolished. Now you will be able to make reservations within a few days of your travel date. It has been told by the Railways that now passengers will be able to make reservation in the train 60 days in advance by adding the date of journey. Railways has also issued a notification in this regard.
Indian Railways has said in the notification that the new deadline for reservation in trains will be applicable from November 1, 2024. That means you can make reservations 120 days before your trip till 31st October 2024. This reservation deadline will not apply to foreigners. Along with this, the new rule will not be applicable on the reservation of trains in which advance reservation period i.e. ARP is already less. Let us tell you that Railways has already fixed the reservation time limit of less than 120 days in all the trains.
