According to the newspaper The Indian Express, this bill will come in the monsoon session of Karnataka Legislative Assembly. After the approval of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress government of Karnataka is going to bring Rohit Vemula Prevention of Exclusion of Excluation and Injstice Right to Education and Dignity Bill 2025. According to the newspaper, after passing this bill, it will be necessary to give protection to the education and honor of SC, ST, OBC and minorities. After passing this law will be applicable in all government and private universities. The provisions of this bill are being discussed in social media fiercely.
Violation of this law will be cognizable and non -bailable. According to the newspaper, arrangements have been made in the bill that if the above category people are harassed, then for the first time there will be a sentence of 10 thousand rupees and 1 year. After this, if the same person commits a crime again, then he will be fined Rs 1 lakh and imprisonment for 3 years. If an institution will be discriminated against SC, ST, OBC and minority community, then the same punishment will apply on it. Also, the Government of Karnataka will not provide any financial assistance to that institute.
It has been arranged in the bill that the helpers of the crime will also be arrested. Arrest will be made on the complaint of the concerned category student. This bill provides for the formation of special courts. Along with this, there is also a provision for appointment of a special government lawyer for every special court and every bench of the High Court. According to the information, in April this year, Rahul Gandhi asked the Karnataka government to enact a law in the name of Rohit Vemula. So that discrimination can be prevented by students of SC, ST, OBC and minority communities in higher educational institutions. On the instructions of Rahul Gandhi, the Siddaramaiah government of Karnataka has prepared the bill. The provisions of this bill are being discussed in social media fiercely.
