New Delhi. There is hope that there will be some reduction in the ongoing tension between India and China since 2020. India and China have signed an agreement regarding patrolling on LAC. Now Indian soldiers will be able to patrol the LAC at those places including Demchok and Depsang, which China had blocked by deploying its troops. India, in return, had deployed its army and banned patrolling by Chinese troops. Despite the agreement related to patrolling, there is still a fear that China may not continue with the old policy of salami slicing. If the Chinese army tries to slice salami, then tensions with India are sure to increase again.
China has always had an expansionist policy. It has declared the entire South China Sea as its own and is not even accepting the decision of the International Court against it. As a result, there is ongoing tension with other countries in the South China Sea. Besides, the Chinese army has gradually captured many areas of Nepal and Bhutan. China has also tried to gradually occupy Indian land in the past. This is called salami slicing. Under salami slicing, the Chinese army penetrates a few hundred meters into the land of the neighboring country and sets up its camp there. The Chinese army has made such attempts several times in Eastern Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh in India. In 2020 also, he had made a similar attempt to infiltrate into Galwan in Eastern Ladakh, but the brave soldiers of the Indian Army foiled his move.
Many Chinese soldiers were killed in the conflict with the Indian Army in Galwan. At the same time, Indian Army’s Colonel B. 20 soldiers including Santosh Babu were martyred. After this, China had deployed army on a large scale on LAC. In response to which India also deployed army and weapons on LAC. Since then the armies of China and India are deployed face to face. Under the agreement reached with China recently, the armies of both the countries will retreat. Here India will have to constantly keep an eye on how far the Chinese army goes back from the LAC. The reason for this is that the Chinese army can reach LAC in a very short time. Whereas, Indian Army takes more time to reach LAC.
