Sriharikota. Indian Space Research Organization i.e. ISRO will launch an important mission tonight at 9.58 pm. ISRO has named it SPADEX. If this mission of ISRO is successful, it will be the fourth country in the world to do so after America, Russia and China. ISRO is going to launch the SpaceX vehicle through PSLV C-60 rocket. ISRO will launch its spacecraft from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. So let us tell you why the Spadex mission is important for ISRO and how this mission will play an important role in India’s space missions in future.
Under Spadex i.e. Space Docking Mission, ISRO will launch two vehicles into space through PSLV. Both these vehicles will revolve around the Earth separately. Then these will be connected in space itself. When both the vehicles will revolve in space, their speed will be 10 times more than that of a bullet. However, ISRO will control the speed while connecting the two vehicles. If both the vehicles are connected in space, then ISRO will have a significant advantage in building future Chandrayaan and space stations. Till now, only America, Russia and China have shown the ability to connect and separate vehicles in space. Apart from the Spadex vehicles, the PSLV C-60 rocket is also going to carry 24 other payloads into space in tonight’s launch. These payloads are part of experiments by ISRO as well as private startups and educational institutions.
If the Spadex mission is successful, it will be an important achievement for ISRO’s Chandrayaan-4 mission. ISRO intends to bring samples from the Moon through Chandrayaan-4. For this, one vehicle will keep circling the moon’s orbit and the other vehicle will land on its surface. The vehicle that lands on the lunar surface will take off with samples and then travel to Earth after connecting with the first vehicle circling in space. Apart from this, when ISRO builds a space station, space docking technology will be used there also. In such a situation, today’s Spadex mission of ISRO is very important.
