Union Health Minister JP Nadda
New Delhi: Union Health Minister JP Nadda presented a research report of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in the Rajya Sabha in which a study was done on sudden deaths during the Corona period. JP Nadda told Parliament that research shows that Covid-19 vaccination does not increase the risk of sudden death among young adults in India. Studies show that vaccination reduces the likelihood of such deaths.
Research done on people aged 18-45 years
ICMR-National Institute of Epidemiology conducted research on people aged 18-45 years who were healthy before taking the Corona vaccine and did not have any disease but later between October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2023. Died suddenly due to unclear reasons. This research was conducted in 47 hospitals in 19 states and union territories.
During the research, 729 samples were taken of those who died suddenly and 2,916 samples were taken of those who were saved after having a heart attack. Research showed that the chances of death reduced after taking the vaccine. ICMR’s research also revealed that the people who died suddenly had consumed excessive alcohol or consumed drugs 48 hours before their death. Also did exercises in the gym for a long time.
JP Nadda gave this information to the House
JP Nadda told Parliament that the sudden deaths after the vaccine have no connection with vaccination. He said that research showed that taking two doses of Covid-19 vaccine significantly reduced the risk of such death. The Union Health Minister said that an enhanced immunization (AEFI) monitoring system has been set up to track vaccine-related side effects.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel said in a written reply that a particular batch of Metronidazole 400 mg and Paracetamol 500 mg tablets manufactured by Hindustan Antibiotic Limited and Karnataka Antibiotic and Pharmaceuticals Limited respectively were found to be of non-standard quality during testing.
