New Delhi. A clever answer by India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has become a topic of discussion on social media these days. This incident happened when he faced a very interesting question during a program. He was asked whether he would prefer to have dinner with North Korea or with American businessman George Soros? Foreign Minister Jaishankar smiled and gave a brilliant answer to this question. He said, “It is Navratri time now, so I would like to fast.” After his answer, the people present at the program started clapping and this answer quickly went viral on social media.

This question was asked to him in an ANI program, the answer to which impressed people on social media. Many people are appreciating this clever answer of the Foreign Minister. George Soros, an American businessman, is considered a critic of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has many times raised questions on Indian democracy, for which the Bharatiya Janata Party has criticized him and seen his statements as interference in Indian politics.

Jaishankar’s sharp answers on the global stage
This is not the first time that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has given a befitting answer to such difficult questions. Even before this he has strongly defended India’s interests at global forums. Notably, Jaishankar responded strongly to critics when India continued to import oil from Russia during the Ukraine war, even while facing the wrath of Western countries.
S Jaishankar’s visit to Pakistan
Apart from this, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is scheduled to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting to be held in Pakistan on October 15 and 16. Before the meeting, he said that the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) has been stalled for the last few years. He cited the promotion of cross-border terrorism by a member country as the reason behind this.
Jaishankar said, “If you all are sitting together and cooperating and at the same time activities like terrorism continue, then it is a big challenge for us how to ignore it and move ahead.” SAARC is a regional grouping that includes India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. However, these days this organization is inactive and there seems to be little possibility of its revival.
