Fadnavis took oath early in the morning
On 23 November, the then Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari took the decision to remove President’s rule from the state. A few hours later, at 7.30 am, Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the CM of Maharashtra and Ajit Pawar took oath as the Deputy CM.

Immediately after Fadnavis took oath, Congress, Shiv Sena and NCP appealed in the Supreme Court. After this, on 26 November, the Supreme Court ordered that the floor test be conducted on 27 November and said that the entire process should be completed by 5 pm and it should also be telecast live. However, soon after this Ajit Pawar resigned from the post of Deputy CM. At the same time, after exhausting the options, Devendra Fadnavis also resigned. Fadnavis resigned on 26 November, the fourth day after taking oath.
