Director General of Meteorological Department, Mrityunjay Mohapatra has said that in November, temperatures may be higher than normal in some states of Central India and North-East. At the same time, in some areas of North and West India, there is a possibility of increase in cold due to the maximum temperature coming down. According to the Meteorological Department, there is snowfall in the hilly states and strong winds are also blowing in North India. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the temperature will fall further in North India and hilly states in the next few days.
Director General of Meteorological Department said that La Nina effect has not yet formed in the Pacific Ocean. If La Nina remains in effect till December, then people may have to face severe cold in January. He told that the Meteorological Department does not consider the month of November as cold. Only December and January are considered cold season. Mrityunjay Mohapatra told that due to La Nina effect, the water of the Pacific Ocean becomes cold and due to El Nino effect it gets heated. Due to La Nina effect, it is very cold in India. At the same time, when there is El Nino effect, the weather in India becomes hot.
The southern states of the country are still under the influence of North-East monsoon and due to this it is raining. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and southern areas of Karnataka even today. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for these four states. 110 mm rainfall was recorded in Tamil Nadu on Friday. At the same time, the weather department has said that the coastal areas of Kerala, Goa and Karnataka will receive an average rainfall of 90 mm. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in the rest of the states.
