New Delhi. Assembly elections are to be held in Delhi next year i.e. in 2025. Just before this, Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party have suffered a major setback. Kailash Gehlot, a prominent leader of Aam Aadmi Party and minister in Delhi government, has resigned from his party and government making various allegations. Kailash Gehlot was associated with Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party for a long time. He was also a minister in Arvind Kejriwal’s government and now even after Atishi took power, he was a cabinet minister.
Kailash Gehlot was born in the year 1974 in Mitraun village of Najafgarh area of Delhi. Kailash Gehlot’s family has been living in this village for 9 generations. Kailash Gehlot practiced as a lawyer for 16 years in Delhi High Court and Supreme Court. He was also a member of the Executive Committee of Delhi High Court Bar Association from 2005 to 2007. When Arvind Kejriwal formed Aam Aadmi Party, Kailash Gehlot joined it and was elected MLA from Najafgarh in the year 2015. He was the minister of Home Department, Administrative Changes, Transport, Women and Child Development as well as IT Department in Delhi Government. Kailash Gehlot’s name also came up in the investigation of many cases during his tenure as minister. He was interrogated in the alleged liquor scam case of Delhi. At the same time, in the year 2018, the Income Tax Department had also raided many of his locations in an alleged case of tax evasion.
Kailash Gehlot is among the big leaders of Aam Aadmi Party, who has resigned raising issues like CM housing and liquor scam. Kailash Gehlot has alleged that Aam Aadmi Party keeps fighting only with the Central Government and due to this the development work of Delhi has stopped. BJP has called Kailash Gehlot’s resignation from Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi Government as a bold step and he has been called brave. It is believed that Kailash Gehlot can now go with BJP also. However, he has not said anything about this till the time of writing the news.
