At the same time, ally Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has won 57 seats and Ajit Pawar’s NCP has won 41 seats. Talking about opposition Mahavikas Aghadi, 20 candidates of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, 16 candidates of Congress and 10 candidates of Sharad Pawar’s NCP have won. Samajwadi Party has won 2 seats and others have won 10 seats. In this way, the BJP led grand alliance is once again going to form the government in Maharashtra with an overwhelming majority.
The tenure of Maharashtra Assembly is ending on 26 November. In such a situation, a new government has to be formed there soon. However, the deadline of November 26 is not necessary for the formation of a new government. By November 26, the Election Commission will have to give the list of winning candidates to the Governor of the state and issue a notification regarding the election results. After this the Governor will decide when the new government will be sworn in. It is believed that by Tuesday the Election Commission will prepare a list of winning candidates for the Governor and will also issue a notification. After this, the Governor will invite the Mahayuti alliance to form a new government in Maharashtra.
In the previous Mahayuti government, BJP had made Eknath Shinde, who broke from Shiv Sena, the CM. This time Mahayuti did not contest the elections by making anyone the CM face. Now that BJP has got the maximum number of seats in Maharashtra Assembly, BJP can once again make Devendra Fadnavis the CM. Devendra Fadnavis has been the CM of Maharashtra earlier also. BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawde had said on Saturday that the CM of Mahayuti will be decided in a day or two. At the same time, even before the name of the CM was decided, the current CM Eknath Shinde has said that the Ladki Bahin Yojana, which was important in winning the elections, was his own brain child. However, it seems that Eknath Shinde also has a claim on the post of CM, but at the same time he has also said that the head of the Mahayuti family is PM Narendra Modi and only his decision will be accepted.
