Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader Atishi said on Monday that the party will contest the 2027 assembly elections in Goa and Gujarat alone without forming an alliance with the Congress. Former Delhi Chief Minister was on a day -long visit to Goa to inaugurate the party office in Madgaon. Atishi said, ‘We are preparing to contest elections (in Goa and Gujarat) on our own. There is no talk of alliance yet.
2 MLAs won AAP in Goa
Atishi said that the people of Goa voted for bringing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to power in 2022 and the Congress won 11 seats, but 8 of its MLAs later joined the BJP. He said that the Congress is the main opposition party with only three MLAs and ‘AAP’ has two MLAs.

Atishi said, “When two AAP candidates won the 2022 election, there were rumors that he would not last even two months, but he is still with the party, because he has not come to earn money in politics.” Asked if ‘AAP’ is not interested in alliance with equal ideology parties, he said, ‘When 8 out of 11 MLAs join BJP, what is the equal ideology? AAP has shown that two of our MLAs were elected and they are still standing with the party. The BJP also tried to woo our MLAs.
Winning election sole purpose
He said, ‘We are not interested in politics that is the only purpose to win elections and earn money. We are interested in politics in working for people. Talking about the party’s defeat in the Delhi assembly elections, Atishi said that the question is not what will happen to AAP, but is what will happen to the people of Delhi.
BJP closed mohalla clinic in Delhi
He said, ‘BJP has already announced that they will close 250 Mohalla clinics. They have already announced that they will stop free medicine. He said that party leader Arvind Kejriwal had warned that if ‘AAP’ loses, the power cut will start, the quality of education in government schools will be spoiled again and this is already happening.
Prevented from working in Delhi
He said, ‘Aam Aadmi Party government works were stopped in a planned manner. If you look at the Delhi election, everything was done from manipulation to misuse of machinery and intimidation of voters. Delhi has never seen such an election before, but despite so much, there was a difference of only two percent votes between BJP and AAP.
BJP running away from election promises- Atishi
Atishi alleged that the BJP has not fulfilled its election promise to give Rs 2,500 to the women of Delhi. He said, ‘PM Modi had assured that on March 8, all women will get the first installment in their bank account on Women’s Day. Far from getting installment, registration for the plan has not started. He said, “This shows that the BJP has no intention of fulfilling its promises.” (With language input)
