A case of gold smuggling has come to light in India in which two people have been accused of smuggling gold worth crores. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested two people at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport who are accused of gold smuggling.
3,350 grams of gold was recovered
In this matter, information has been given by the officials that 3,350 grams of gold has been recovered at the airport. Officials said a woman executive was stopped at the exit gate and questioned. Later, when the woman was investigated, gold worth crores was recovered from her.
This gold has been recovered in flight EY200 from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai. The woman was helping in smuggling of gold by using her Aerodrome Entry Permit (AEP). The weight of the gold recovered is 3,350gm which is worth Rs26.5 million.
