On Friday, January 10, the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government directed the state police to take “appropriate action” against influencer Abhishek Kar following his controversial statement on Assam women. The Assam government has accused influential Abhishek Kar of “spreading misinformation” about the women of Assam in a podcast on YouTube. The action comes after YouTube podcaster Abhishek Kar was recently flagged by the Chief Minister’s Office after a video clip went viral. Notably, this clip was shared by several Assam-based social media platforms.

“A video of a YouTube channel named Riya Upreti is going viral, in which a person named Abhishek Kar is seen making controversial comments on the history and traditions of Assam,” the CMO said in a post on X. It has been said that Abhishek Kar has specifically said wrong things about Mayong village in Morigaon district of Assam.
In the video, Kar claims that the women of this Assam village have such power that “if you go there, they can turn you into a goat or any other animal and then at night, turn you back into a human being.” Can change and have sex with you.” Why? Assam government ordered action
Assam government has directed to take action against the claim made by YouTuber Abhishek Kar in this video. Assam DGP GP Singh has said that the state’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been asked to take legal action against this person. Recently a clip of the podcast has gone viral on YouTube, in which Abhishek Kar was the guest. In this, he was seen spreading propaganda with the aim of insulting and defaming the women of Assam.
