Bengaluru: The World Meditates With Gurudev program organized on World Meditation Day has created history. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living, has conducted group meditations for more than 85 lakh people around the world, both online and offline. This event broke all previous records and made it to the Guinness World Records, Asia Book of Records and World Records Union. This historic event, organized by the Art of Living Foundation, brought together people from across the world for collective meditation.
People from more than 180 countries participated
In fact, the whole world celebrated 21st December as World Meditation Day. In this sequence, this program was organized by Art of Living. People from more than 180 countries participated in this program and through it demonstrated the transformative power of meditation. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar also attended the inaugural program of World Meditation Day at the United Nations. Starting from the opening ceremony at the United Nations till its conclusion, this program spread a wave of attention across the continents of the world.

Meaning of meditation explained
This meditation session led by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was live streamed, in which lakhs of people participated for global peace and harmony. Before conducting meditation, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar explained the meaning of meditation. He explained that meditation is the journey from thinking to realizing what you know. He said, “To meditate, you have to first move away from thinking too much and feel what is there. And then go beyond the emotions and go into the inner space. If you want to become wise, sensitive, then you have to learn to meditate.” Meditation is not passivity. You need to meditate to become more dynamic and peaceful.
