BJP leader Giriraj Singh has reacted to the viral video of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. He said that after Sita Ram Kesari, Congress has treated Mallikarjun Kharge disrespectfully. He took a jibe at Congress regarding this incident. While sharing Kharge’s video, Giriraj Singh wrote, “Wow Congress, after Sita Ram Keshari ji, Kharge ji.”
The viral video is from Wayanad Collector Office. Priyanka Gandhi had come here for nomination. Many senior Congress leaders were with him. Party President Mallikarjun Kharge had also arrived with him. However, Kharge was not allowed to enter the collector’s room during the nomination. He was peeping from outside the door. During this time someone recorded a video, which is going viral.
Why is Giriraj linking Kharge incident with Sita Ram Kesari?
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is one of the senior most leaders of the party and is also a veteran Dalit leader. Before this, Sita Ram Kesari had been the President of Congress, who was a freedom fighter and veteran Dalit leader. After he became the President of the Congress Party, the party’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections was disappointing. In such a situation, all the big leaders had demanded him to leave this post. All the leaders wanted Sonia Gandhi to take this responsibility. However, Sita Ram Kesari refused to leave this post. In 1998, he was very insultingly removed from the post of president. It is said that amidst the slogans in the Congress office, he was also abused. After this, Sonia Gandhi became the Congress President and Sita Ram Kesari was highly praised for leaving the post in the official letter.
BJP is targeting
Bharatiya Janata Party is targeting the Gandhi family by linking the Kharge incident to Sita Ram Kesari. BJP says that Kharge is not from the Gandhi family, hence he was not allowed inside the room despite being the party president. At the same time, some leaders say that Congress has always been insulting Dalit leaders. Kharge is being treated disrespectfully at Sita Ram Kesari’s bar.
