New Delhi. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a tough stand against adulteration of food and drinks. Condemning the mixing of human waste in food items, the CM has ordered a thorough investigation of all restaurants, hotels, dhabas, juice shops and other establishments in the state. The CM has also ordered mandatory installation of CCTV cameras in food establishments and verification of employees.

Along with this, instructions have been issued to those working in food establishments to wear masks and gloves. Yogi said that people who endanger people’s health will not be spared under any circumstances. Anyone found guilty of adulteration in food items will be given strict punishment. The Chief Minister of the state has directed that the name and address of the owner, proprietor, manager of all food shops and establishments should be prominently written. For this, necessary amendments should also be made in the Food Safety and Standards Act. Not only the place where customers sit in the establishments but other parts should also be covered with CCTV. All establishments will also have to keep the CCTV data safe and make it available to the police or local administration if needed.
Taking cognizance of the recent incidents of spit and urine being mixed in food items, the UP CM said that no such incident is tolerable. Such incidents not only have a horrific effect on the health of the common man but also have a mental adverse effect. Concrete arrangements are necessary to prevent such incidents in the state. Yogi said that people involved in these incidents will also be given severe punishment.
