New Delhi. The Dalai Lama, the largest religion guru of Tibetans, will now be under the security cordon of Z category. The central government has issued an order to provide him with Z class security. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) submitted an intelligence report on the Dalai Lama to the government after which the Union Home Ministry has decided to increase their security. A total of 33 security personnel will be deployed in the security of the Dalai Lama under the Z category, including 12 commandos and 6 PSOs. These security personnel will also have 10 armed static guards, who will be present at the Dalai Lama’s residence in McLeodganj in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.

In this way the Dalai Lama will be under strict security circle for 24 hours. The Dalai Lama was recognized in 1940 as the 14th Dalai Lama in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. The Dalai Lama has also been awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1989 for the efforts of peace and non -violence. In 1950, China attacked and captured Tibet. After this, Tibetans revolted against China in 1959 but failed. After this, the Dalai Lama and a large number of Tibetan citizens left their country and came to India and took refuge here.
The Government of India gave Tibetis land to live in McLeodganj located in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Since then the Dalai Lama has lived there. The Tibetan exiles also run from McLeodganj. China has always been a staunch opponent of the Dalai Lama. But the peace efforts of the Dalai Lama have been appreciated in many countries of the world. Former US President Barack Obama is also a fan of the Dalai Lama. Last year, despite China’s opposition, the US government delegation went to McLeodganj and met the Dalai Lama.
