The Haryana government has approved the FNG Expressway connecting Noida to Faridabad. It has a 550 meter long bridge over Yamuna, which will connect Noida directly to Faridabad near Lalpur village. Work on the 56 km long Faridabad-NODA-Ghaziabad Expressway is likely to be resumed soon as Haryana has given its approval for its construction. Its work started 20 years ago, under which the expressway work in Uttar Pradesh was almost completed, but due to the approval of the Haryana government, the work had to be stopped. The proposed bridge will connect two banks of the river near Chak Mangrola in Lalpur and Sector 168 of Noida near Uttar Pradesh-Haryana border.
Millions of people benefit every day
Currently, about 1 lakh people travel between Noida Expressway and Kalindi Kunj per day between Noida and Faridabad. Talking to the media, Noida Authority Deputy General Manager Vijay Rawal said that in a meeting last year, the NCR Planning Board suggested that Uttar Pradesh and Haryana governments should bear the cost of the bridge equally. He further said that Noida agreed to this, but the Haryana government had to buy land for it, which she could not do. This has further delayed the construction of the bridge. Let us tell you that the 56 km long FNG Expressway is the main, which will facilitate the journey between two cities of NCR and Ghaziabad.
How much work is done?
Recently, the Haryana government has agreed to share 50 percent of the cost of the bridge, which will cost an estimated Rs 460 crore on construction. So far, 11.6 kilometers have been constructed out of the total 23 km long expressway passing through Noida. A 650 meter elevated road is to be constructed in Chhajasi village on an incomplete part of 12.1 km in Noida. A lane of the expressway near Sorakha village and another lane of 200 meters near Shahdara Sector 143 is still incomplete. At the same time, the elevated section is also yet to get approval from the irrigation department. FNG will be connected to Noida Expressway, which also has an incomplete underpass. According to media reports, this project will be completed by 2027.
