CM Yogi, who took oath for the second time in UP, had made a new rule for the ministers as soon as he took charge. Ministers will not have the freedom to have personal staff of their choice. They have to choose their staff from a specific list. In contrast, about 10 ministers, including both the deputy CMs, have demanded their old staff, rejecting the new system.
On behalf of about one and a half dozen ministers, the demand for the staff of choice has been made from the Secretariat Administration Department. The high officials of the Secretariat administration are in a dilemma after the demand of the old staff came from the ministers. The file related to their demand is now ready to be sent to the Chief Minister. Staff will be provided according to the decision taken by the CM.
According to the policy of the government for the deployment of Private Secretary, Additional Private Secretary, Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer in the staff of ministers, all the ministers were given new staff after fixing the list on a random basis. It was seen in this that no personnel posted with the staff with any minister for the last five years could get posted as minister staff again.
The Principal Secretary of the Secretariat Administration Department, Amrit Abhijat and subordinate officers did a random selection of staff on the basis of employee code through software after exercising till midnight for two-three days.
Demand for old staff staying with other ministers
After the swearing-in and portfolio allocation, many ministers who were ministers in the government in the past have demanded to be given the old staff. According to the information received, about one and a half dozen ministers have demanded from the Secretariat Administration Department to give staff of their choice. Sources said that in this the names of many senior cabinet ministers who have been ministers in the past are also included. Some other ministers have already demanded to give the staff who were with other ministers.
