New Delhi. This time the Duleep Trophy is going to be a different scene. Star players who have made it to Team India will be seen playing in the tournament. BCCI had earlier made it clear that before the Bangladesh series, except Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jaspreet Bumrah, all other players will have to play in the domestic tournament. Team India’s stars Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, Akshar Patel, spinner Kuldeep Yadav and fast bowler Mohammad Siraj will be seen playing in this tournament.
Senior star players like captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jaspreet Bumrah and R Ashwin have been exempted from playing in the Duleep Trophy starting from September 5 in Bengaluru. The selectors have created a good balance between the performers in domestic matches and potential talents while selecting four teams for this competition.
Suryakumar, Rishabh Pant and Ishaan will be in focus
T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav has also been selected, who played a Test against Australia in 2023. Apart from Suryakumar, others have confirmed their place in the team. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, a member of India’s T20 World Cup winning team, will also play in this tournament. Another wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan will also play in it, last season this player was dropped from the BCCI’s central contract for giving priority to the Indian Premier League and not playing in the Ranji Trophy tournament.
10 star players will come to play

India has to play two Test matches against Bangladesh, the first Test of which will start from September 19 in Chennai and from September 27 in Kanpur. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jai Shah said, “The players who will be selected for the Indian team for the home Test series against Bangladesh will be replaced by others in the Duleep Trophy.”
