Fake pesticide manufacturing racket busted. Pesticides worth more than Rs 1 crore seized.
Purnia. A fake pesticide manufacturing factory has been exposed in the Birauli market of Rupauli police station in Purnia, Bihar. Fake pesticides worth more than Rs 1 crore, Harpic Head & Shoulders shampoo along with many machines and pesticide manufacturing equipment have been recovered from here. The Agriculture Department team raided and exposed this fake factory.
Jai Kishan Kumar, Assistant Director of Plant Protection Department, said that a representative of Bayer Company had given an application to the District Agriculture Officer that fake pesticides are being made in the name of their company. As soon as they got the information, they raided the house and shop of Mohammad Shakeel located in Birauli market with the help of Rupauli police station. A large quantity of fake pesticide Notiva of Bayer Company worth more than one crore rupees was recovered there.
Apart from this, Head N Shalters shampoo and bathroom cleaner Harpic were also recovered. The recovered items include 11000 packets of 100 gram fake insecticide Notiva of Wire Crop Science Limited, whose price per packet is ₹1200. Apart from this, many items including empty packets printed for fake packing of Bayer company, fake chemical powder filled in three sacks, a sealing machine, 25 liters of chemical in a gallon have been recovered.
Company representative Rajnish Kumar Singh has also given a written application in this regard to Rupauli police station. However, during this time the accused Mohammad Shakeel has managed to escape. But, with the discovery of this factory it has become clear that such fraudsters are setting up factories in remote areas and the goods are being delivered to shops in cities. In such a situation, it is a big challenge for the police to take action against such elements or else farmers will continue to be cheated.
