The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has recovered about 170 kg of ganja from a truck in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. Along with the ganja, the officials have also arrested a smuggler associated with it. The surprising thing is that 170 kg of ganja was being taken to Ayodhya hidden under the guise of fish feed. The price was estimated at Rs 51 lakh

An NCB official said on Friday that the consignment of ganja that was recovered was being sent from Devgaon in Maharashtra to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. The official said that the black market value of the confiscated narcotic substance is estimated to be around Rs 51 lakh.

This is how the narcotic was caught

NCB’s Indore Zone Regional Director Ritesh Ranjan has said that on the information of the informer, the agency’s team stopped a truck at the Titarpani toll plaza in Sagar district on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. When the vehicle was searched, about 170 kg of ganja was found hidden behind the sacks of fish feed.

Action under NDPS Act

NCB has said that action is being taken against the arrested smuggler under the NDPS Act. Also, his truck has been seized. It has been informed that the NCB’s Indore regional unit has seized more than 3,000 kg of narcotics worth Rs 9.5 crore since January 1. (input language)
