Work continuously to bring down the rate of malnutrition among children, all the children who are malnourished in the district, go door to door, consult their parents and prepare an Anganwadi-wise action plan to make the children well-nourished. So that we can achieve the target of making Raigad district malnutrition free soon. Collector Bhim Singh said in the review meeting of Women and Child Development Department today. He said that 19 panchayats of the district have become 100% malnutrition free, malnutrition rate has gone below 10 percent in 426 panchayats. This is commendable. If we work with a special plan for these panchayats, soon they too will be 100% malnutrition free.
The collector took information about the top 10 sectors which have brought down the number of malnourished people from September to February 2022. Out of which, Saraidipa of Tamnar and Dumarmuda sector of Pusaur performed well. During this, when the supervisor of the collector sector was asked about his working style, he shared his experience. Also asked to issue notice to Kharsia’s Barra Sector Supervisor, who did not work as expected during this period. The Collector asked the Women and Child Development Officer to do special monitoring in the sectors where cases of malnutrition are still high. If there is any problem here, it should be solved immediately. He said that all the children of 3-6 years of age have to be fed rice in the Anganwadi. Wherever there is shortage of rice, inform me immediately. Arrangements should be made to bring those who have not been benefited in Gharghoda and those who are not able to reach the Anganwadi. During the meeting, he reviewed the ongoing works for the eradication of malnutrition and inquired about their work from all the CDPOs. The collector expressed deep displeasure over not being given satisfactory information by some CDPOs and instructed them to bring in their work. Directed to issue notices to CDPOs whose performance is weak.
During the meeting, the Collector informed about the new Kaushalya Matritva Yojana app by the state government. He said that in order to work continuously towards the eradication of malnutrition, back yard poultry has been distributed from DMF funds in the district to increase the work of poultry farming in Anganwadi sectors. Due to which the production of eggs can be increased at the local level and it can be supplied in the Anganwadi.
During the meeting, the collector took sector-wise information about the child reference camp. He said that it is necessary to have one camp in one sector every month. Where necessary medicines should be found along with the examination of the patients. During this, CMHO Dr. SN Keshari, Women and Child Development Officer TK Jatwar, all CDPOs, Sector Supervisors, workers and other officers-employees of the department were present.
Organize counseling camps for pregnant women
The Collector directed to organize camps at the block level for counseling of pregnant women to follow the right lifestyle along with hemoglobin test. He inquired about the number of people benefited in the NRC and directed all the CDPOs to do better work in their respective areas.
