Merida/Ocala: A total of 19 people have died in two separate incidents in Mexico and Florida. Eleven people were killed in a mass shooting on Tuesday in a small town in Mexico’s southern state of Chiapas. The State Prosecutor’s Office gave this information. The prosecutor’s office said the shooting took place in the town of Chicomucelo in Chiapas. The area is known for migrant and drug trafficking. Eight people were killed in a road accident in Florida, America.
The state prosecutor’s office said disputes between drug trafficking gangs have been recurring in the region, and as recently as Monday, there had been a clash between drug trafficking groups. He told that some of the people killed in the firing on Mangalawar are residents of Chikomuselo.
8 bus passengers killed in truck collision in Florida
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has arrested the driver of a truck that hit a bus Tuesday morning, killing eight people. The truck driver, Brian McLean Howard, has been charged with aggravated assault while intoxicated, FHP said in a statement. According to officials, at least 40 people were injured in the incident. The bus was carrying 53 farm workers when the accident occurred at about 6.40 a.m. in Marion County, about 80 kilometers north of Orlando. (AP)
