New Delhi: Indian citizens have been killed in the war between Russia and Ukraine. India has said that two Indian citizens recruited by the Russian army have been killed in the recent Russia-Ukraine war, taking the number of such deaths to four. The Ministry of External Affairs said that India has strongly raised this matter with Russia and demanded the early return of all Indian citizens involved in the Russian army.

The statement said that India has demanded that “any further recruitment of Indian citizens by the Russian army be completely stopped and such activities would not be consistent with our partnership.” The Ministry of External Affairs said, “We regret to inform that two Indian citizens recruited by the Russian army have recently been killed in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The Foreign Ministry said, “We express our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. Our embassy in Moscow has put pressure on the Russian authorities to send back the bodies as soon as possible.”

Russia is also facing losses in the war with Ukraine. In such a situation, Russia is recruiting foreign soldiers at many levels. Apart from India and Nepal, citizens of African countries and East Asian countries have also been included in the Russian army. Foreign citizens have not been given any major responsibility in the Russian army.
