You must have seen many boys and girls around you who are suffering from pain in knees, waist or other joints. Since Corona, the problem of joint pain and swelling is increasing rapidly in 20 year old boys and girls and later on it is developing into rheumatoid arthritis. According to doctors, earlier this disease was prevalent only in the elderly and was seen in people above 60 years of age, but now this disease is affecting the youth.
Based on the patients coming to the OPD of All India Institute of Ayurveda, health experts say that girls and women are the most affected by rheumatoid arthritis. Sometimes this disease starts affecting so much that the bones reach the point of becoming hollow and the problem of osteoporosis develops. The height of the patient decreases, bones become hollow and start disintegrating.
Dr. RK Yadav, Additional Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at AIIA, says that nowadays youth are facing the problem of pain in knees, waist and other joints. This also causes problems like swelling and inflammation in the joints. Due to prolonged swelling without treatment, joints are also getting damaged.
These are the major causes of rheumatoid arthritis
Dr. Yadav says that one of the biggest reasons behind the occurrence of rheumatoid arthritis in the youth and especially in the new age is not taking free remedies. Everyone gets free sunshine from the sun but today’s youth are away from it. The problem of 90 percent of the patients coming to the hospital is that they do not have time to sit in the sun for some time every day.
Less exposure to sunlight is becoming very dangerous for the bones. Especially women, whether they live indoors or are working, they are unable to take sunlight due to being in the office all the time and due to this, they suffer from Vitamin D deficiency. Same is the condition of other youth who are unable to take sunlight due to their busy lifestyle. Many such researches have also come to light in India in which it has been told that most of the females are deficient in Vitamin D. Due to this, there is calcium deficiency in the body and bones start becoming hollow.
Dr. Yadav says that whatever calcium remains in the body decreases with time, in such a situation the body needs additional calcium. However, people do not pay attention to this and due to calcium deficiency, the bones get weakened. This is also a major cause of arthritis.
Apart from this, people do not even have time to exercise. Due to which the immunity gradually starts getting disturbed in the body and auto immune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis arise. It is also very difficult to correct it completely. Therefore the youth need to be careful. Otherwise, as they grow older, they will start having problems in getting up and sitting.
What should youth do?
Dr. says that it is important to do four things to avoid or recover from rheumatoid arthritis. First, sit in the sun for a while every morning. If you are not able to get sunlight in the morning, then it is important to expose your back to sunlight for at least 20 minutes at any time. With this, Vitamin D will remain present in your body. Take care of adequate amount of calcium, vitamins, minerals, proteins etc. in your diet. Avoid junk food. If possible, exercise daily and if this is not possible then walk for some time every day. Do not do any work by sitting at one place for hours, take a walk in between, stretch your body. Only then can you be saved from this disease.
