More than 250 Indians trapped in a deep scam in Cambodia have been brought back home. After continuous efforts of the Ministry of External Affairs, it was successful in rescuing these Indians. He was taken abroad on the pretext of job. But there he was trapped in a serious scam. The Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday said the central government is coordinating with Cambodian authorities and around 250 Indians have been “rescued and repatriated.” The statement comes amid reports of several Indian nationals in Cambodia. These Indian nationals were lured with employment opportunities there, but were allegedly forced to commit cyber crimes. The ministry said in a statement that out of these 250 Indians, 75 have been brought back in the last three months. “We have seen media reports on Indian nationals stranded in Cambodia,” she said. Our Embassy in Cambodia is responding promptly to complaints from Indian nationals who were lured by employment opportunities in that country but were forced to perform illegal cyber work.
Ministry of External Affairs is continuously engaged in saving Indians from scams.
“Working closely with Cambodian authorities, around 250 Indians have been rescued and repatriated, of which 75 have returned in the last three months alone,” the statement quoted External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal as saying.
